A story about teamwork and taking turns.
-

It was a sunny afternoon at Maplewood Park.
The swings were squeaking, the slide was shining,
and Lola the Wonder Dog was wiggling her way through the grass.“Wiggle on, wonder on!” she barked happily.

Lola loved the playground.
She didn’t need to climb or swing —
she just loved seeing kids laugh, run, and play together.
But today… something felt off.
At the monkey bars, Emma and Kai were shouting.
“I was here first!” said Emma.
“No, I was!” said Kai.
Their faces were red. Their arms were crossed.
Nobody was climbing. Nobody was smiling.

Lola trotted over, ears perked.
She gave Emma a gentle nudge.
She gave Kai a sloppy lick.
Then she sat between them and tilted her head.
“Ruff?”
It was her way of saying, “What’s wrong, friends?”

Kai huffed. “I want to go across the monkey bars!”
Emma stomped. “Me too! But he pushed in front of me!”
Lola gave a tiny bark and did her special move —
the Wiggle of Wonder!
Her whole body wobbled like jelly on a trampoline.

Kai giggled. Emma snorted.
“No one can stay mad when Lola wiggles,” Emma said.
“Yeah,” Kai smiled. “She’s like a happiness hurricane.”
Lola pawed at the woodchips, then looked at the monkey bars…
Then back at the kids…
Then at the bars again…
She was trying to tell them something.

“I think she wants us to take turns,” said Emma.
“And cheer each other on,” added Kai.
They high-fived.
Emma went first. She swung, one bar to the next.
Kai clapped. “You’ve got this!”
Then it was Kai’s turn.
He slipped on the third bar, but Emma shouted,
“Try again! You can do it!”
And he did — all the way across.

Lola wagged so hard she toppled into the grass.
Both kids flopped beside her, laughing.
“I guess teamwork is more fun than fighting,” said Emma.
“And waiting my turn wasn’t so bad,” said Kai.

Lola leaned in close, tail swishing.
“Wiggle on, wonder on!” she barked.
Lola Says:
“It’s okay to want your turn — just remember to be fair and kind! Taking turns means everyone gets to have fun.”
